Jans Banded Snake
Also known as:
Jans Snake, Desert Banded Snake

These snakes were the second and third pretty little banded snakes that I saw this night on the road between Monkey Mia and Denham. The first one turned out to be a different species. These snakes seemed to me to be the Australian equivalent of our Shovel-nosed Snakes. Except, of course, the Australian ones are venomous, like most of Australias snakes.
Ive written up an account of this three-week trip to Australia here.
