Lygodactylus fritzi
—
no known English name
These lizards look essentially identical to the Lygodactylus miops we had seen around Andasibe, and at the time we saw them we assumed that they were that species. But it turns out they had been split into a separate species in 2022.
Here is a list of all the reptiles and frogs I saw on this 2023 trip to Madagascar.
This one seems quite a bit darker than the others I've seen, but perhaps that's a daytime/nighttime distinction. It might also be a different species of Lygodactylus, but as far as I know L. fritzi is the only species known from this area.
