Lygodactylus sp
—
unidentified species
A comprehensive 2018 study found only two types of Lygodactylus in Isalo National Park. The first is an undescribed species that is morphologically and genetically similar to Lygodactylus pictus. The second is an undescribed species that is morphologically and genetically similar to Lygodactylus tuberosus. "Ah", you might say, "then you just need to check which of those two species your Lygodactylus is morphologically most similar to!". But that would not be a useful comment by you; those two species are primarily distinguished by the color of their bellies and whether or not they have spots on their throats. My photos do not show the undersides, so you can see my ID difficulty.
Here is a list of all the reptiles and frogs I saw on this 2023 trip to Madagascar.
