Heterixalus luteostriatus
—
Andranolava Reed Frog
These frogs are not reliably distinguishable from Heterixalus betsileo. These ones usually have their yellow dorsolateral stripes "continued" onto the hind legs, as you can see here. But that is true for some individuals of H. betsileo also. Fortunately, studies involving DNA have so far shown only this Heterixalus species from Isalo and nearby.
Here is a list of all the reptiles and frogs I saw on this 2023 trip to Madagascar.
This is my evidence that in the Isalo area, this species is not found strictly around our hotel.
This is a very sincere frog. This is the Paddington Bear of frogs.
