Calotes nigrilabris

Black-cheeked Lizard
Also known as:
Black-cheek Lizard, Black-lipped Lizard
In Nuwara Eliya, most people looking for herps head to nearby Horton Plains National Park. But my guide Udaya Chanaka had another idea: we visited the home garden of a friend of his who lives in the area. In said garden we found numerous frogs, a snake, many Rhino-horned Lizards, and this very fine Black-cheeked Lizard.
