Lower Brooks River, Katmai National Park

Brooks River, a mere 1.5 miles long, connects Lake Naknek and Lake Brooks. Lots of salmon swim up this river to spawn. Lots of hungry bears await them. Viewing platforms on this bridge over the river offer the first opportunity for major bear viewing (if you don't count the bears wandering around the camp).
