Tropidolaemus wagleri

Wagler’s Pit Viper
Also known as:
Wagler’s Viper, Wagler’s Palm Viper, Temple Viper, Temple Pit Viper, Speckled Pit Viper, Bamboo Snake

This beautiful Wagler's Pit Viper, spotted at some distance by the eagle-eyed Kurt "Orion" G, was the highlight of my first night in Malaysia. The banded pattern is the hallmark of an adult female.
My Travelogues and Trip Lists page includes a complete list of the herps I saw in the wild on this trip to Malaysia, as well as a travelogue of the trip.
