Boettger’s Mabuya
As we were returning from a morning lemur-full hike, I spotted this small skink skittering about on a large boulder at the edge of the river. There are a few similar-looking skink species that might be in this area, but I think this is M. boettgeri based on the pattern of stripes. For a certain identification, I'd need a close up head shot that shows the scalation clearly, but this skink had no intention of letting me approach any more closely.
