Tawny Treefrog
Also known as:
Cross-banded Treefrog, Nicaragua Cross-banded Treefrog
I tried to get a shot of this medium-sized treefrog facing the camera, but it had no interest in cooperating. It kept turning to the side before leaping to another spot.
Savage's giant Costa Rica book calls this "an uncommonly seen nocturnal treefrog that is usually found only near breeding sites." This one didn't seem to be too close to a stream or pond, but it was dark and maybe I overlooked a nearby source of water.
