Pseudocalotes viserion

Viserion’s False Garden Lizard
A cool, drippy, and breezy night in the highlands became awesome when I spotted this odd-looking lizard sleeping on a thin branch. Such large and sloppily positioned scales! Also, this species had only been described about six months earlier. (Some of the photos in the species description paper were taken by my guide Kurt "Orion" G, so he knew right where to look for them.)
My Travelogues and Trip Lists page includes a complete list of the herps I saw in the wild on this trip to Malaysia, as well as a travelogue of the trip.
