Common Wall Lizard
This European lizard definitely does not belong in Canada. Perhaps it was fooled by the word "British" in "British Columbia"? Nevertheless, they are abundant in the southern part of Vancouver Island.
A retaining wall along an oceanside trail provided the titular home for many of these lizards.
