Nessia burtonii
—
Burton’s Nessia
Also known as:
Gray’s Snake Skink, Three-toed Snake Skink
I don't think this genus of skinks is named after Nessie (the Loch Ness monster), but I hope it is.
My guide Udaya Chanaka dug this one up in an appropriate-looking area of the grounds of his Runakanda Rainforest Conservation Center.
