Mantidactylus grandidieri

Grandidier’s Madagascar Frog
While we out on a (successful) search for red ruffed lemurs, I noticed the telltale eye bulges of this frog watching us warily from a pool in a stream. This is one of the larger Mantidactylus species.
A 2020 study on this group of frogs has left me thinking that this might be Mantidactylus radaka instead of Mantidactylus grandidieri. I am awaiting further info; hold your breath.
Here is a list of all the reptiles and frogs I saw on this 2007 trip to Madagascar.
You can't see me. I am under cover.
This frog was identified by our guides as Mantidactylus grandidieri. However, the very similar large frog Mantidactylus guttulatus is also found in this area, and both species have undergone considerable revision/confusion over the years. So it is probably one or the other, and I will just leave it here.
