Lithobates maculatus
—
Highland Frog
Also known as:
Masked Mountain Frog

These two water frogs and several friends occupied a big concrete water holding tank up on a forested hillside.
Here is a list of all the reptiles and frogs I saw on this trip to Guatemala.

At a different location, these frogs were also hanging out in man-made water containment features. This time, it was rock pools that were part of the landscaping of a gorgeous finca in which we were lucky enough to stay for a couple of nights.

Finally, one of these frogs showed up in its native forest habitat.
