Lampropeltis elapsoides
—
Scarlet Kingsnake
Also known as:
Scarlet Milk Snake, Scarlet King Snake
At the time I saw and then photographed this beautiful snake on the road, I thought it was another Scarletsnake, a similar-looking species I had seen nearby. Only a few days later when I was looking at my photos more closely did I realize it was the other nonvenomous coralsnake mimic in the area.
