Stigmochelys pardalis
—
Leopard Tortoise
This species has bounced around in various genera, including Geochelone, Centrochelys, and Psammobates.
This attractive tortoise was drinking from a puddle in a dirt road that we were driving down. It had one look at us and waddled off into the brush. We also saw one of its namesake feline friends in a tree nearby.
