Cryptophis nigrescens

Eastern Small-eyed Snake
My friend David Fischer and I found this snake underneath a piece of tin, which also covered a solid writhing mass of ants (Golden-tailed Sugar Ants, Camponotus aeneopilosus, to be precise). The snake was difficult to photograph because it kept pushing itself beneath the leaf litter. David helped me keep it on the surface long enough that I could get a few photos.
