Contia longicaudae
—
Forest Sharp-tailed Snake
The specific name has been spelled both "longicauda" and "longicaudae". The latter seems to be settling in as the preferred name.
I had looked for this rather nondescript snake on several occasions without luck until my friend James Maughn, proud owner of iNaturalist's longest daily observation streak, decided to end my misery. He met me near some of his favorite spots for this species and we looked under objects until we found one. Thanks James!
