Buchanans Snake-eyed Skink
This is a numerous, variable, and widespread little skink. It's very commonly seen on fences, walls, and buildings, and has therefore picked up a large number of common names. The first one here was hiding under a downed log; the second one was in plain sight on a fence (along with several friends).
