Kurt spotted this green lizard sleeping high up in a tree fern. At first glance we both hoped it was the majestic Hypsicalotes kinabaluensis, but second glance made clear that it was instead a Bronchocela. The Bronchocela in the Kinabalu highlands were once considered to be B. cristatella, but are now considered a distinct but as yet undescribed species most closely related to B. shenlong from Peninsular Malaysia.
