Madagascar Bright-eyed Frog
Analamazaotra (better known as Perinét, though that's really just the name of the nearby train station) is most famous for its Indris, beautiful large black-and-white lemurs with a haunting and ear-splitting call. But it's also full of chameleons, geckos, snakes, frogs, tenrecs, and all sorts of other excellent Madagascar wildlife.
My personal camera technology has improved quite a bit in the twenty-seven years since I last photographed this species.
Here is a list of all the reptiles and frogs I saw on this 2023 trip to Madagascar.
Why do all those inspirational "Hang In There" posters feature kittens rather than frogs?
This is the classic "large arboreal treefrog about to leap away" pose.
