Anolis semilineatus
—
Hispaniolan Grass Anole
Also known as:
Santo Domingo Anole
This was the most cryptic of the five anole species I saw in Casa de Campo. Some individuals of all the other species would spend time on walls, fences, telephone poles, bare trunks, and large rocks, where they could be spotted a fair distance away by the anole-trained eye. But I only saw these incredibly long and thin ones well camouflaged in twiggy shrubs.
