Anolis scypheus
—
Yellow-tongued Anole
By day these lizards rely on their cryptic coloration to hide from predators in the leaf litter while they forage for invertebrates (and the occasional smaller lizard).
By night they sleep on leaves, sticks, and stems, where their leaf-litter camouflage doesn't conceal them nearly as well from flashlight-toting lizard fans.
