Afrixalus nigeriensis
—
Nigeria Banana Frog
One way to distinguish Afrixalus from Hyperolius is that the pupils of Afrixalus are vertical (when not fully dilated) whereas the pupils of Hyperolius are horizontal. In most of my (nighttime) photos of both groups of tree frogs in Ghana, the pupils are dilated enough that this diagnostic feature is not very helpful. But in this one I can just barely tell that the pupils are taller than they are wide.
Ghana frog expert Caleb Ofori Boateng confirmed that this is Afrixalus, and suggested that it was probably A. nigeriensis. If you have any reason to think otherwise, please let me know.
